Kate's Potted Story

I was only 25 when I began working in the greenhouse. I had no idea it would become something I truly enjoyed. Few can claim both skill and enjoyment in their work.

I discovered a talent for design and collaboration, resulting in repeat seasonal customers seeking my expertise in patio container, window box, and Christmas decoration design.

I also had excellent mentors who assisted me throughout the process to refine my skills, gaining valuable knowledge in plant care and design.

I soon became the greenhouse manager and head grower and some of most favorite times of the year were when I was planting up and cultivating a new crop.

After 13 years, and unforeseen and regrettable changes in the ownership of the greenhouse, I found myself in a position to change my career. I reluctantly took a career path that led me away from what I loved and soon realized that though it had its benefits I was not happy.  

I chose to revisit my plan to launch my own business using the knowledge and experience I gained over the years to cater not just to homeowners, but also to business owners and real estate agents.

The business model and goal is to bring the service to the homeowner instead of them coming to the greenhouse. Making it a more effortless journey for clients. Extending this service to business owners sprucing up outside seating areas and store fronts. Worked with real estate agents to revive curb appeal for resale.

Recently, I expanded the business with a online store Katespottedcreations.com to purchase containers and planters with no further service required or scheduled for a custom design once received.

Services include all season outdoor containers (hangers, window boxes and pots) floral arrangements and decorated wreaths and roping.
